Together, we shape a Jamaica where potential knows no bounds, and hope shines brightly in every corner. Join us in the movement.
The United Way of Jamaica was established in 1985 through the Voluntary Sector Development Grant as a reliable means for mobilizing resources to fund social outreach projects. Since then, we have expanded our capacity to tap into our network of partners and effectively respond to some of Jamaica’s most pressing needs. We are an autonomous, non-profit private voluntary organization, registered as a charitable organization under Sections 2 and 17 of the Charities Act of 2013.
United is the Way we work together to improve the common good within those underserved communities and overcome the problems operating to destabilize them. With this, comes our specific Vision, Mission and Core Values that drive our decision making.
To mobilize resources to transform lives through Jamaica.
To help create a society where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education and financial stability in a safe and enabling environment.
We operate openly and are honest about the work we do
We embrace and employ the standards and best practices of the voluntary sector
We measure, monitor and evaluate our interventions and their outcomes
The United Way of Jamaica is comprised of our Board of Governors, staff and volunteer committees. We are a united team of leaders and professionals, using our collective desire for change to support nation-building in Jamaica. We are led by the Chairperson of our Board of Governors and our Chief Executive Officer.
