Health & Wellness Programmes

In order to carry out the mandate of the United Way of Jamaica (UWJ) partnerships are forged and the work of multiple health agencies facilitated and supported.

The UWJ has provided financial and technical support for over 30 health agencies, including the Diabetes Association of Jamaica, Jamaica Red Cross, Mission of Compassion, National Aids Committee and the FISH Clinic to name a few.

Services include general public awareness, treatment of non-communicable diseases, knowledge of preventative measures and information on child and domestic violence, as well as substance abuse and rehabilitative solutions. Each agency serves approximately 5,000 individuals annually. The United Way continues to work with people in communities to improve their health by increasing their awareness of major illnesses. UWJ also provides healthy solutions and assist in the reduction of child, domestic and substance abuse along with domestic violence.
